I was referred to Mr Almeyda via another consultant who picked up a condition on a scan while being investigated for something else, that needed ENT intervention. I saw Mr Almeyda at Townlands Hospital as an NHS patient. It was a great pleasure to meet him and throughout the consultation he was positive, good humoured, listened carefully and observed intelligently with great consideration for my feelings and thoughts. A true professional. He very clearly explained everything he intended to do. I was also extremely impressed by his first statement that he intended to treat the symptoms not the test results, I had had the test several months before and things had changed. I felt reassured that I would be heard and it boded well for a good outcome. Of course it is always daunting to have investigations but he fully explained why everything was being done and then discussed his findings straight away. He involved me in the way forward for treatment and I have a plan that involves me taking charge of my own treatment with his direction until I see him again to decide if there needs to be an operation. I was also very pleased that he gave me a full ear and sinus equivalent to an MOT and has further referred me for a hearing test. When I left the consultation I felt as though I had been heard, treated with respect and that I would have a good outcome. His follow up letter was an exact reflection of our conversation and came by email the next day. Mr Almeyda could not have done anything more to give me greater care that day and I feel confident that the same care would be given to everyone he sees.

Mr Almeyda has provided genuine care, attention to detail, understanding, amazing medical surgery, advice and reassurance over the past five years. I was misdiagnosed before meeting Mr Almeyda and I am so thankful that I was put in the safe hands of this incredible Doctor. Within the first appointment I felt much more reassured that I was in good hands. Even though medically I knew I was going to be in for a difficult journey, Mr Almeyda was kind and honest as he talked, sharing his knowledge and explaining the process I would need to go through. I am now five years on from meeting Mr Almeyda and he is the person I go to for his expertise whenever I need treatment and reassurance. I really can't recommend him highly enough and feel fortunate to continue being under his care.
